Practicalities > Coming to Reims

Coming to Reims [ʁɛ̃s]

By train

Reims has two train stations: Reims, right in the heart of the city center, and Champagne-Ardenne TGV (8km from the city center).

Coming from Paris, you can choose between two direct trains:

  • Paris (Gare de l'Est) > Reims (45 minutes)
  • Paris (Gare de l'Est) > Champagne-Ardenne TGV (40 minutes)

Reims has also direct train connections with Bordeaux, Brussels,  Luxembourg, and Strasbourg.

For more information and to buy your ticket:
SNCF Connect.

Consider buying your tickets in advance:
the earlier you buy, the cheaper it is.

If your train arrives at Champagne-Ardenne TGV, there are two ways to get to the city center.

Tramway B

There is a tramway stop just outside the train station. The tram will get you to the city center in about 20 minutes. On weekdays, there is a tram every 10-15 minutes.  You can buy a ticket (1,80 €/1 hour) in one of the automatic vending machines located at the tramway stop. Check the transport map and the prices here: GRAND REIMS mobilités.

Local train (TER)

There is a local train (called TER) that will bring you to Reims (Centre) in 12 minutes. On weekdays, there are two TER trains per hour. You can buy your ticket (3,10 €) at the railway station or online. Your TER ticket is valid for 1 day: if your TGV is late, you can still take another TER train on the same day.

By plane

By car

The closest international airport is Paris Roissy - Charles de Gaulle (Paris-CDG): parisaeroport.fr.

At the airport, take a TGV train to Champagne-Ardenne TGV (see above). Depending on the train itinerary, you will get to Champagne-Ardenne TGV in 30 minutes or 1 hour.

Reims is at the crossroads of the A4-E50 (Paris – Strasbourg) and A26-E17 (Calais – Troyes – Dijon) freeways. 6 exits serve the city.

Please note:

Part of the city of Reims is located in a Low Emission Zone (ZFE). To drive in this zone, your vehicle must display a green Crit air sticker, or a sticker rated from 1 to 3, affixed to the windscreen.

You can’t circulate in the zone without an approriate vignette; having a 4 or 5 vignette will result in a fine. Apply for the vignette on the official government website:
certificat-air.gouv.fr.
